Features of Drop on Demand Inkjet Printing

Inkjet printing is the oldest form of printing; it is available in two forms i.e. continuous inkjet & drop-on-demand (DOD) inkjet. Drop-on-demand inkjet printing is the modified version of this printing, it was introduced after the continuous inkjet printing & it is preferred by consumers. This ink differs in the composition i.e. the ink can be water-based, alcohol-based or other. The selection of the ink depends on the substrate. In the packaging industry use of glass & highly smooth plastics is increasing but in the printing, a highly smooth surface poses a challenge for printing. Developing DOD inkjet printing inks for printing on the glass surface is expected to create a good opportunity for DOD inkjet printing inks in the market.

The UV inkjet printer is a part of digital printing that use UV lights to dry or cure the ink as it is printed. When the printer distributes ink on the surface of material UV lights follow close behind, curing or drying the ink instantly. It was developed for quickly drying gel nail polishes during manicures, UV lights quickly expand into commercial markets. UV lights can cure any printed ink immediately. The dots of the wet ink do not get a chance to spread out once they are printed & this result in much finer detail. These inks are weather-resistant & do not fade soon.
